A few facts on Halloween and its origins.
Also known as All Souls Eve
Halloween Day is October 31
Halloween began 2,000 years ago by the Celtics
They believed that on October 31st they line between the living and the dead was blurred
They celebrate it as the day the dead walk amongst the living
The Celtics wore costumes made of animal heads and skins
To avoid running into a ghost they would wear masks, so the ghosts would mistake them for other ghosts
To keep the ghosts out of their house they would leave bowls of food outside the house
When they brought Halloween to America, people would start going door to door asking for money or food.
People would give the poor “soul cakes,” in return for their promise of praying for their dead relatives.
