Not everybody is happy about Halloween. A small part of the population think it's an evil festival and we shouldn't be celebrating it. And they are also right. What are we really celebrating? Something to rejoice?… Not really, we are celebrating death in its most gruesome shocking and horrible aspect. It's the night of killers, monsters and demons. For them, Halloween is the survival of the worst of ancient pagan traditions, and treating children to candies to get them love this day is simply… cruel.
Compare this pagan festival to the religious festival celebrated two days later: "The Day of the Death" or "The Feast of All Souls", where people remember and pray for the dead, especially their departed loved ones; they clean and tidy their tombs and remember that, some day, they will be again reunited. And this festival can also be a day for joy and party, as in the Mexican "Dia de los Muertos". This is the celebration of death in its holiest and nicest aspect.
