Global warming is one of the biggest planetary problems we have. Pollution is causing a "green-house effect" that makes global temperatures go up, ice caps melt and sea levels rise. The biggest polluter by far is the United States, and also the only rich country who doesn't want to do anything about it (listen to Bush talking about it or a National Geographic documentary).
