Description

This is a fragment of the movie "Shrek"

normal verbs (he/she + -S)--> I work, he works / I live, he lives / I study, he studies

special verbs --> I can, he can / I will, he will / I may, he may

Transcript

- I swear! He can talk!
- Hey, I can fly!
- He can fly!
- He can fly
- He can talk!
- Ha, ha! That's right, fool. Now I'm a flying talking donkey

Español

- I swear = lo juro (lit: yo juro)
He can talk = puede hablar
- Hey, I can fly = pero bueno, ¡puedo volar!
- He can fly = puede volar
- Ha, ha. That's right, fool = ja, ja. Exacto, tonto
("that's right" literalmente significa "eso es correcto")
- Now I'm a flying talking donkey = ahora soy un burro volante (flying) y parlante (talking)

Los verbos normales añaden -S a la tercera persona del singular (he, she, it), pero los verbos especiales (como por ejemplo CAN) no:
- I can, he can
aunque los verbos especiales "to be" y "have" tienen formas irregulares terminadas en -S:
- I am, he is / I have, he has  (pero no se dice "bes" ni "haves")
