Description

A brave woman speaks out what most of us don't want to hear. What she says about American society is true for most countries in our world, even many poor countries. We all want more and consumerism is today's new religion. As always, some people can completely fulfil with its mandates and some can only wish for it, but greed is the new philosophy.

What I would really like is... if everybody would stop... for a minute, and look outside of the bubble you got ++++. If you stop for a moment and think about all the good in your life... Don't think about what you don't have, what you want, think about what you do have and what it means to you, and how things for you are, for the people in your life.

I think the average American (I can't  speak for anybody else, I've never been abroad so...) for the average American, it seems pretty apparent to me  that we take a lot for granted, I mean, a lot. But do we know it? There's 39000 plus children a day dying in Third World countries because of preventable deceases and ++++ and of starvation.. Yet, we complain because we can't buy the best of brand names, ++++.

There are people in this world, right this second, right now, that don't have clean water. Their whole goal every day is to somehow earn or get enough food to just survive. Not- not fill their stomachs, just to survive.

We need to wake up to the fact that America, we're encased in a bubble of reality, and-and the average American doesn't ever step out of that bubble. A lot don't even know there is a bubble to step out of.

I'm just really thoroughly frustrated with what's occurring in the world. We're all here, we're all in the same planet together. Yet, several things divide us, which stop us from accomplishing many goals. And I would like to think that most all us would like peace. We speak of peace, but yet, we're all divided, for whatever reason. Which is sad, you know, because humans, I think, have lost track of what life's about. Americans, an average American is too busy with consumerism and keeping up with the-the Joneses. Better yard, better house, better car, better clothes, better blah, blah, blah. Sad. I do believe that human beings as a species has lost the point.

My goal in my life is not to have the best materialistic possessions and best yard and house and car and blah, blah. Social status. Crap. Pointless, utterly pointless then. I mean, when you die (I don't care what religion you are) when you die, you will not take one materialistic possession past your grave. You gotta ask yourself: what ++++ is accomplishing for the most financial, you know, the highest financial goal than the average Amercian have (and I say average, I'm not generalizing, but you got admit the majority average American) is to consume by the egotistical goal of achieving more.

I mean, there's nothing wrong with having nice things. Don't get me wrong, I, I have a wide diversity of friends. I have the poorest financially... friends and I have the wealthiest financial friends. And I'm always throwing the word "financially" because financial wealth does not make you the wealthiest person in  ++++, you need to redefine "wealth".

I guess what I'm trying to say is "what is your goal in life, really? Really, what is your goal to achieve in your lifetime? So, I'll leave you with that.

Peace out
.

Explanations

POP THE BUBBLE= Burst the bubble, break it, so that you can come in contact with reality.

THINK ABOUT WHAT YOU DO HAVE= Here, DO is emphasizing the verb HAVE. We use DO in affirmative sentences to emphasize a verb (except special verbs like "to be", "have got", "will" or "can").

THE AVERAGE AMERICAN= The normal American person, the most common type of American citizen.

IT SEEMS PRETTY APPARENT TO ME= In my opinion, it's quite obvious.

WE TAKE A LOT FOR GRANTED= If you take something for granted you don't appreciate it because you consider it will always be there when you need it. For example, you can take someone's love for granted when you think they'll always love you no matter what happens (and you stop thinking that love is important). We take air for granted because we think it will always be around us, and nobody feels happy for that, we don't think it's important. But if you went to the moon, you would not take air for granted and you would very much value your oxygen supply.

39,000 plus children a day= More than 39,000 children every day.

PREVENTABLE DECEASES= Illnesses that can be prevented (with medicines or simply with food and a healthy life).

STARVATION= If somebody starves, they die because they have no food to eat. Starvation is that kind of death.

BRAND NAME= The registered name that identifies a product. Famous brand names are: Coca-Cola, Mercedes, Zara, Renault, Cornflakes. Products with a famous brand name are usually more expensive than others, and not necessarily better.

GOAL= Objective, aim, purpose. We also use this word in football when they score, because getting the ball through the posts is the goal of the game.

ENCASED= Trapped.

STEP OUT= Come out.

THOROUGHLY= Completely.

OCCURRING= Happening.

ACCOMPLISHING= Achieving, getting.

FOR WHATEVER REASON= For some reason we don't know (or we don't care).

HUMANS HAVE LOST TRACK= Humans have no idea anymore, they forgot.

CONSUMERISM= The new economical order in which people exist only to buy more and more. If someone doesn't buy, they have no value. If most people would stop buying, the whole system would collapse. If people don't buy more every year, the economy stops and collapses, so we need to keep spending more and more every year. Problem is we can't be fully humans and consumerists at the same time.

KEEP UP WITH THE JONESES= To have the same things as the people around us, so if they buy a big car, we want to have a big car too, if they go to the beach on holiday, we also want to go to the beach. If we don't, we feel frustrated. So it doesn't matter how much we have, the important thing is to have the same (or more) than people around us.

HAS LOST THE POINT= Has forgotten the true purpose, the real objective.

CRAP= (a rude word) shit; something with no value.

UTTERLY POINTLESS= Completely absurd, with no sense.

GRAVE= The place where they put your body when you die. "Past your grave" means "after you die".

YOU GOTTA ASK= You have to ask.

WEALTH= abundance; richness.

PEACE OUT= A colloquial way to say "good-bye", usually pronounced while hitting your heart twice with your fist or kissing your two fingers, and then making the sign of piece (like you can see on the video).
