Explanations

YOU WENT: I’D LIKE COFFEE, PLEASE= “Went” is the irregular past of “to go”. We can use the verb GO for sounds.
- The dog goes bow-wow, the cat goes meow and the cow goes moo.
- When I opened the door it went creeeeeck
And in informal English we can also use GO instead of SAY (for the sounds or words a person makes)
- I said “hello” but she went “I don’t know you” and walked away.

CALM DOWN= Relax.
