En este vídeo se explica la pronunciación de CAN y de CAN'T, a ver si entiendes algo.

- La forma afirmativa CAN se pronuncia /kn/, sin vocal.
- La forma negativa CAN'T se pronuncia algo parecido a "kan" pero la vocal suena un poco parecida a la "e" española (como una "a" tirando a "e"). La T final puede pronunciarse, aunque normalmente no suena.

Lo importante es que en la forma afirmativa no suene la vocal y en la forma negativa sí suene vocal. Es la presencia o ausencia de vocal lo que indica si es afirmativa o negativa, porque la T de la negativa suele desaparecer. Por eso, si la forma CAN la pronuncias "can", los nativos pensarán que estás diciendo "can't", o sea, lo contrario de lo que pretendes.
