Each night before the song 'Where The Streets Have No Name', Bono recited a prayer from Eugene Peterson, it went: "What can I give back to God for the blessings he poured out on me. "Where the Streets Have No Name" was praised by critics and became a commercial success, peaking at number thirteen in the US, number fourteen in Canada, number ten in the Netherlands, and number four in the United Kingdom. The song has become one of the band's most popular songs and has remained a staple of the their live act since the song debuted in 1987 on The Joshua Tree Tour.
 Stay (Jackson Browne)
This hit from the 70's is a classic. It appeared on Jackson's album Running on Empty in 1977 and it is in fact a version of an older song by Maurice Williams and the Zodiacs from 1953, although it was not released until 1960. See the original song here.

Lady Writer (Dire Straits)
"Lady Writer" is a 1979 rock song and single by Dire Straits, sung by Mark  knopfler. It appears on the band's second album Communiqué. It's one of Dire Straits' biggest hits and a classic from the 70's. Listen to a studio recording of this song (lyrics change a little bit sometimes): Lady Writer. Dire Straits were a British rock band, formed in 1977 by Mark Knopfler (lead vocals and lead guitar), his younger brother David Knopfler (rhythm guitar and backing vocals), John Illsley (bass guitar and backing vocals), and Pick Withers (drums and percussion). Dire Straits' sound drew from a variety of musical influences, including jazz, folk, and blues, and came closest to beat music within the context of rock and roll.
Music & Lights (Imagination)
Retro disco funk made gold. If you were young in the 80's you will probably have this song engraved in your genes. The video may be a bit tough to watch though :/ ... or maybe great fun :) "Music and Lights" is a single by British trio Imagination, released in 1982 by R&B Records. The song appeared on their second album titled In the Heat of the Night. "Music and Lights" became a hit that reached number five on the UK Singles Chart in 1982, top 1 in Italy and France, top 2 in Spain and top 10 in many other countries inside and outside Europe.
