Who are the rich? - an inspirational story

Who are the rich and who are the poor? What is success? Maybe we should think twice about it.

THE LAW OF ATTRACTION
an inspirational video

One day a father took his son on a trip to show him how poor people lived. They spent a few days on a farm with a poor family. On their return, the father asked the son:

-How was the trip?
- It was great dad!
- Did you see how poor the people live?, asked the father.
- Oh yea, said the son
- So, tell me, what did you learn from the trip?

The son answered:
- We have one dog, they have four! We have a pool in the middle of our garden, they have a creek that has no end. We have lanterns in our garden, they have the stars! Our patio reaches our front yard, they have the horizon! We have a small piece of land, they have fields that go beyond sight. We have servants who serve us, but they serve others. We buy our food, they grow theirs. We have walls to protect us, they have their friends to protect them.

The father was speechless. Then, the son added...

- Thanks dad for showing me how poor we are!

[Looking at life from a different angle!]

ON A TRIP / ON A FARM= Notice that we use the preposition ON with these phrases.

POOL= Swimming-pool

CREEK= A small stream of water, a brook (a very very little river).

LANTERNS= See picture.

PATIO= A paved yard.

GO BEYOND SIGHT= If something goes beyond sight, you can't see the end of it. BEYOND= Further than / SIGHT= What you can see.

GROW= If you grow food, you plant and cultivate it until it is ready to collect and eat or sell.

SPEECHLESS= So impressed or so puzzled that you can't say a word (literally: without speech, unable to speak).
