Norah Jones (born Geethali Norah Jones Shankar on March, 1979) is an American singer-songwriter and actress. Born in Bedford-Stuyvesant, Brooklyn, New York, Jones is the daughter of Indian sitar player Ravi Shankar, and concert producer Sue Jones. After her parents' separation in 1986, Jones spent her childhood with her mother in the Fort Worth suburb of Grapevine, Texas. She attended Colleyville Middle School and Grapevine High School before transferring to Booker T. Washington High School for the Performing and Visual Arts in Dallas. While in high school, Jones sang in the school choir, participated in band and played the alto saxophone. At the age of sixteen, with the blessings of her parents, she officially changed her name to "Norah Jones". She began singing in church choirs and took piano lessons as a child. She considers herself spiritual and appreciates the rituals of her church but does not consider herself the religious type. Jones attended the University of North Texas (UNT), where she majored in jazz piano and sang with the UNT Jazz Singers.

In 2002, she launched her solo music career with the release of the commercially successful and critically acclaimed album Come away with me, which was certified a diamond album, selling over 20 million copies. The record earned Jones five Grammy Awards. The album has been noted by music writers for its acoustic pop style and incorporation of jazz, folk, soul, and country music elements.

"Come away with me" is a song written by the female jazz/folk singer Norah Jones. The song did not chart on the Billboard Hot 100, but it did place number 21 on the US Adult Top 40. The song features on the Jennifer Lopez & Ralph Fiennes movie, Maid in Manhattan. (wikipedia)

Come away with me in the night
Come away with me
And I will write you a song

Come away with me on a bus
Come away where they can't tempt us
With their lies

I want to walk with you
On a cloudy day
In fields where the yellow grass grows knee-high
So won't you try to come

Come away with me and we'll kiss
On a mountaintop
Come away with me
And I'll never stop loving you

And I want to wake up with the rain
Falling on a tin roof
While I'm safe there in your arms
So all I ask is for you
To come away with me in the night
Come away with me
