Russian Red is the stage name of Lourdes Hernández (born 1985), a Spanish indie and folk singer-songwriter. Known by many as the Spanish Feist, in reference to the Canadian singer-songwriter who inspires her in many of her attitudes on the microphone, Lourdes Hernández—who writes and sings all of her compositions in English—states that she sings in that language instinctively because she has always listened to music in English. The name Russian Red comes from the colour of a lipstick that Hernández herself usually wears.

With the release of her first album I Love Your Glasses Russian Red became well-known and popular in Spain. In May 2011, she released her second album Fuerteventura, where is included "The Sun, The Trees". The video clip of this song was recorded in Port Lligat Cadaques area (place known by the painter Dalí) with analog camera. Other songs: "Conquer the world" (2011), etc...

(Wikipedia)

The sun fills the kitchen in my house
it's warm and cosy and it helps me breathe
and I wonder if you're making people laugh
'cause you're funny, you're funny.

The trees out of my window dance
oh they do, dance with the wind
and I wonder why, I wonder why,
I wonder why we are apart.
'Cause we're funny people, beautiful inside.

The sun, the trees, the moon, the sea
the clouds above hang over me
The sun, the trees, the moon, the sea.

The sea goes quiet when the night is dark
with the lights reflected jump in from the sky
and I wonder if we'll see the moon walk by
'cause it's shinning, it's shinning
as it lights the shadows, see the moon walk by.

The sun, the trees, the moon, the sea
the clouds above hang over me
The sun, the trees, the moon, the sea
The sun, the trees, the moon, the sea...
